FBM KLCI Futures Experience Decline in Early Trading

Kuala Lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives were lower in the early trading session today: The FBM KLCI futures saw a decrease in value during the initial hours of trading.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, at 9.30 am, the January 2025 futures slipped 10.5 points to 1,540.0. Similarly, February 2025 futures lost 8.5 points to 1,544.0, while March 2025 futures reduced by 9.5 points to 1,526.0. The June 2025 futures also saw a minor decline, easing by 0.5 point to 1,541.5.

The turnover for these futures stood at 1,671 lots, with open interest recorded at 36,852 contracts. This reflects a significant number of market participants engaged in trading activities within the derivatives market.

The benchmark FBM KLCI itself decreased by 8.34 points to 1,547.20 after 40 minutes of trading, compared to Thursday's close of 1,555.54. This drop indicates a downward trend in the market performance during the early session.
