Kuala Lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower today, in line with the downward trend observed in the underlying cash market performance.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the closing figures showed January 2025 dropping 7.0 points to settle at 1,552.5. The February 2025 futures decreased by 11.0 points to 1,550.5, while March 2025 saw a decline of 9.5 points, closing at 1,535.0. Additionally, June 2025 futures slid 8.0 points, ending at 1,544.0.
The turnover surged significantly to 76,290 lots from 30,987 lots recorded on Friday, indicating increased trading activity. Open interest also rose, reaching 124,520 contracts compared to the previous 70,293 contracts.
At the close of the trading day, the FBM KLCI itself declined by 14.76 points, settling at 1,558.97, which marked a decrease from Friday's close of 1,573.73.
