Felcra Recognized as Key Player in Food Security and Rural Development: Ahmad Zahid

Kuala lumpur: The Federal Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (FELCRA) has been highlighted as a crucial entity in advancing national food security and enhancing the welfare of rural communities, as noted by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid emphasized that FELCRA's contributions go beyond land development, playing a significant role in improving lives by providing economic opportunities and a promising future for rural populations. He expressed these views in a Facebook post, underscoring FELCRA's evolving role in the current landscape and its potential to spearhead the transformation of the nation's agro-economy through its accumulated experience and innovative approaches.

Celebrating FELCRA's 60th anniversary, Ahmad Zahid, who also serves as the Rural and Regional Development Minister, acknowledged the agency's six decades of impactful work and transformation, greatly affecting thousands of rural families. He conveyed hopes for FELCRA to continue empowering rural communities through sustainable and inclusive development models that benefit both current and future generations.

FELCRA was established as a statutory body in 1966 and transformed into FELCRA Berhad in 1997, becoming a wholly-owned government corporate entity.
