FESSB-PJEMSB venture to set up TVET Corridor in Perak

IPOH, Feb 22 (Bernama) — Felcra Education Services Sdn. Bhd (FESSB) and Puncak Jaya Edu Management Sdn. Bhd (PJEMSB) today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to set up a TVET Corridor in Perak to provide rural youth opportunities in the field of education.

The MoU is to enable rural youth to follow the Learning Programme; Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET); Skills and Career Programme and Competency Programme.

The MoU was signed by PJEMSB managing director Datuk Mohd Shaharul Hashri Mahmood and FESSB general manager Datuk Hazrinor Hisham Harun, witnessed by Perak State Assembly speaker Datuk Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid here.

The MoU covers seven cores with emphasis on collaborative learning and training; consulting services; research and development cooperation; promotion and marketing; continuous professional development; social responsibility programme as well as student activities.

Meanwhile, Hazrinor Hisham said the collaboration is expected to be able to increase the marketability of the group, especially rural youth equipped with the skills to face future challenges.

He said FESSB’s focus is not only set on the rural poor but also the urban poor by providing skills and competence training programmes to open up job opportunities for the two groups.

“So it is on that basis that we enter into a joint venture with PJEMSB to respond to the state government’s call in the 2030 Prosperous Perak Development Plan which aims to make the state a TVET corridor for Malaysia,” he said.

Mohd Shaharul Hashri said the collaboration also provided an opportunity for researchers to carry out high-impact research activities to spur community involvement, especially in the aspect of using information and communication technology in rural education.
