Five Arrested in Johor for Upside-Down Jalur Gemilang Displays

Johor bahru: Five individuals have been detained to assist investigations into three cases involving the upside-down display of the Jalur Gemilang in Johor. Johor deputy police chief DCP Hoo Chuan Huat stated that the cases were reported in Kulai, Pelangi Indah, and Iskandar Puteri.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, those detained include two men aged 25 and 43 in Pelangi Indah, a 56-year-old man in Iskandar Puteri, and a 34-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman in Kulai. Investigations are ongoing, and upon completion, the investigation papers will be referred to the Attorney General's Chambers for further action, Hoo mentioned during a press conference at the Johor Contingent Police Headquarters.

Hoo also urged all parties, especially premises owners, to ensure the correct display of the Jalur Gemilang, particularly when assigning tasks to their workers, including foreign workers. Previously, images showing the upside-down Jalur Gemilang went viral on social media, prompting action by the authorities.

A commercial premises under the administration of the Kulai Municipal Council (MPKu) was temporarily closed after being found to display the Jalur Gemilang incorrectly.
