Teluk intan: Five suspects wanted by police to complete the investigation into a brawl during a football match at Padang Speedy, Teluk Intan, last Thursday were arrested this evening. Hilir Perak police chief ACP Dr Bakri Zainal Abidin said all the suspects were aged between 20 and 30. "Remand will be made tomorrow morning," he said in a brief statement today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, police were earlier tracking down five suspects to complete the investigation into the brawl. Seven suspects, aged between 21 and 32, who were already remanded for three days starting August 8, were granted police bail today. On August 8, media reported that police had arrested these seven men for a rioting incident during the football match. All seven were later released on police bail.
Bakri said the arrests were made after receiving a tip-off from a man who reported a fight involving two local football teams playing in the Hilir Perak Integrity League 2025.
