Shah Alam:Several areas in Shah Alam and Klang experienced flash floods due to continuous heavy rain this afternoon, leading to disruptions on major routes and slow traffic.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) assistant director, Ashrul Riezal Asbar, reported that Taman Rashna in Klang was among the places severely affected, with waist-high floodwaters. The department received a call at 7 pm, prompting a response team of seven from the Klang Selatan Fire and Rescue Station to be dispatched.
Due to high water levels, fire engines could not access the location, and personnel had to walk two kilometers. They successfully rescued seven individuals‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬¦¡¬a man, two women, and four children‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬¦¡¬taking them to safety at a nearby hut on higher ground as the water level started to recede.
Meanwhile, social media posts highlighted flooding in several main routes in Shah Alam and Klang, causing slow vehicle movement. Areas like Section 7, Desa Alam in Shah Alam, and Bandar Baru Klang were notably impacted.
Earlier, the Shah Alam City Council had issued a flash flood warning, advising the public to stay alert due to rising water levels near i-City traffic lights in Section 7 and Padang Jawa traffic lights in Section 16. A survey conducted by Bernama found that water levels in Section 7 had begun to recede, and traffic flow was returning to normal.
