Johor: The number of flood victims at relief centres (PPS) in Johor decreased to 3,118 people this afternoon, from 3,776 people this morning, while in Sarawak, the number increased to 40 people.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, in Johor, State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) chairman Tan Sri Dr Azmi Rohani stated that the 3,118 flood victims, involving 892 families, are currently at 35 PPS in four districts: Kota Tinggi (1,251 people), Johor Bahru (708), Pontian (625), and Kluang (534). Azmi mentioned that the flood situation in the Kulai district has improved, allowing all the victims to return home as the flood water in their residential areas has receded completely.
In Sarawak, the number of flood victims has risen to 40 people, up from 18 this morning. The State JPBN secretariat reported that 20 of the victims are at the PPS at Dewan Kompleks Sukan Kanowit in the Kanowit district, with the evacuees coming from Rumah Leo and Rumah Alice Jimmy. The remaining 20 evacuees are at the PPS at Dewan Serbaguna Nanga Ngungun, also in the Kanowit district. The Sarawak JPBN Secretariat noted in a statement, "The order to open the second PPS (Dewan Kompleks Sukan Kanowit) was issued by Kanowit District Officer Jackline August at 11.30 am."
In Perak, the Perak JPBN Secretariat indicated that 31 people from nine families remained at the PPS at Sekolah Agama Rakyat (SAR) Padang Serai as of 4 pm today. These individuals are from Kampung Padang Serai, Kampung Kasi, and Kampung Pengkalan Damar in the Manjung district.
In Pahang, a PPS was established at Balai Raya Kampung Jawa in Rompin to accommodate 152 victims (36 families) from Kampung Pantai 3 and 4 and Kampung Jawa, who were evacuated following floods caused by high tide and strong winds.
