Johor: The flood situation in Johor improved today, with the number of evacuees in relief centres dropping, while things remained unchanged in Perak, Pahang, and Sarawak.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, in Johor, there were 1,092 evacuees from 329 families at 12 centres in four districts as of 8 pm compared to 1,860 people this evening. Kluang had the highest number of evacuees at 410 people, followed by Pontian with 354, Kota Tinggi with 275, and Johor Bahru with 53. Jalan Mawai Lama (Rumah Burung) in Kota Tinggi was still inaccessible to all vehicles after being flooded.
In Perak, the state disaster management committee secretariat stated that the number of evacuees remained unchanged at 31 people from nine families from Kampung Padang Serai, Kampung Kasi, and Kampung Pengkalan Damar. These individuals have been housed at Sekolah Agama Rakyat Padang Serai, Beruas since January 9.
In Pahang, 186 people from 43 families remained in Balai Raya Kampung Jawa, Rompin. Meanwhile, in Sarawak, 20 people from 13 families were at Dewan Kompleks Sukan Kanowit tonight.
