Floods Situation Unchanged in Melaka, Pahang, and Johor

Melaka: The flood situation in Melaka, Pahang, and Johor remains largely unchanged, with a slight increase in the number of evacuees at temporary evacuation centers (PPS) across the states. Currently, 292 individuals are affected, up from 256 victims reported the previous night.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Melaka State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat (JPBN) reported that the number of evacuees in Melaka has risen marginally to 36 individuals from eight families, compared to 34 individuals the previous night, all of whom are sheltered at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Parit Penghulu PPS.

In Pahang, InfoBencana from the Social Welfare Department (JKM) noted a similar trend, with flood victims in Rompin increasing to 84 from 23 families, up from 49 victims from 13 families the night before. These evacuees are currently at the Kampung Setajam PPS.

Conversely, in Johor, the situation shows a slight improvement with the number of evacuees decreasing to 172 from 58 families in seven PPS in Segamat, a slight drop from 173 individuals the previous day. State JPBN chairman Datuk Asman Shah Abd Rahman stated that two rivers in Segamat, Sungai Muar in Buloh Kasap and Jeti Sungai Tekam, have exceeded the danger level, with readings of 8.89 meters and 4.13 meters, respectively, and are on an upward trend.

Additionally, Felda Tenggaroh 3 in Mersing remains completely closed to traffic due to a slope collapse.
