Semenyih: A foul odour coming from a house in Semenyih, Selangor, led to the discovery of two bodies lying on the living room floor of a house last night. Kajang police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof stated that the discovery was made after a report was lodged by a man at 8.43 pm, who noticed the smell emanating from his sister's house.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, police, with assistance from the Fire and Rescue Department, entered the house and found the bodies of the complainant's sister and her nephew. The medical team confirmed their deaths. Naazron reported that there were no signs of ransacking in the house, which was locked from the inside at the time of the incident. The motive behind the incident remains under investigation.
The police have seized several items for further investigation. No arrests have been made, but detailed statements from family members and witnesses are being recorded to assist in the investigation. Preliminary information indicated that the deceased, a 53-year-old woman, had been living with her 25-year-old nephew and had not been seen in the neighbourhood for nearly 10 days.
The bodies were sent to the Serdang Hospital Forensic Department, where a post-mortem examination was completed. It was determined that the cause of death was suffocation. Naazron stated that the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
