Baling: Police have detained four individuals, including three male students from a school in Baling, on suspicion of being involved in the rape of a minor. Baling acting police chief DSP Ahmad Salimi Md Ali stated that the police received a report on the incident from a relative of the victim at 8.11 pm last Sunday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the report was initiated after the complainant was informed by the school's disciplinary teacher about the circulation of a nude video clip of the girl at about 11 am the same day. Police subsequently detained three students and a school leaver to assist in the investigation. Further investigation revealed that all the suspects had engaged in sexual activity, including group acts, between May and August at several locations, including inside school classrooms.

The suspects were also found to be involved in storing and distributing the pornographic material, which had gone viral on social media. Police have since seized six mobile phones belonging to the suspects. A remand application for the four suspects was granted for five days from the date of arrest (Oct 12) to facilitate further investigation. The case is being investigated under provisions related to gang rape and child pornography.

The acting police chief emphasized that the police view the incident seriously and urged the public, especially parents and guardians, to closely monitor the activities and movements of their children, particularly teenagers.
