Four Kedah Districts Experience Level 2 Heatwave Conditions

Kedah: Four districts in Kedah, namely Baling, Pendang, Pokok Sena, and Kota Setar, have registered level 2 heatwaves as of 4 pm.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has also recorded level 1 heatwaves in several other areas. These include Bandar Baharu, Kulim, Kuala Muda, Sik, Padang Terap, Kubang Pasu, and Pulau Langkawi in Kedah, as well as Perlis, the Utara district in Penang, various parts of Perak such as Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, and Hulu Perak, and Lubok Antu in Sarawak.

Level 2 heatwaves are identified when the maximum daily temperature ranges between 37 to 40 degrees Celsius for at least three consecutive days. Level 1 heatwaves, on the other hand, occur when temperatures are between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius for the same duration.
