Four Killed In Five-Vehicle Crash In Kuching

Kuching: Four people were killed in an accident involving three cars and two motorcycles on Stutong Road heading towards Kuching Airport Road today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department's Operations Centre reported that the accident occurred around 12.40 pm. The victims included three men and one woman, though their identities remain unconfirmed.

The department stated that they received a call from the hospital requesting assistance to extricate victims trapped in the vehicles. Firefighters employed Road Traffic Accident (RTA) equipment to free a victim trapped in a Proton Saga. In total, nine individuals were involved in the incident, with three men and one woman confirmed dead. Two victims, a man and a woman, sustained critical injuries, while three other men suffered minor injuries.

The deceased were confirmed by Ministry of Health personnel at the scene, and their bodies were handed over to the police for further proceedings. The injured were transported to the hospital for additional treatment, and post-accident cleanup work concluded at 4.03 pm.

As of now, the police have not issued any statements regarding the accident.
