FREE TICKETS TO NATIONAL SCIENCE CENTRE, PLANETARIUM FOR OFFICIAL SCHOOL TRIPS

The Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI) is offering free tickets to the National Science Centre (PSN) in Kuala Lumpur and Alor Setar, Kedah (National Science Centre Northern Region) as well as the National Planetarium for official trips involving school students.

Minister Chang Lih Kang said the move was in line with the Ministry of Education’s (MOE) initiative to encourage schools to organise educational visits as part of the efforts to strengthen the teaching and learning process.

“It is an integrated effort to support the government’s policy of bringing science and technology closer to the people and instilling students’ interest in Science, Mathematics, Engineering and Technology (STEM) subjects,” he said in a statement today.

However, exhibitions in collaboration with external strategic partners are not included in the free ticket offer, he added.

On June 16, MOE issued a circular on the guidelines for educational visits involving government school students.

The circular also encouraged schools to organise educational visits that students can gain benefits from such as increasing their knowledge and suggested private educational institutions registered with the MOE to also use the guidelines.
