Kuala lumpur: A press conference was recently held to mark the 10th anniversary of Guigang's New Energy Electric Vehicle Industry Development and to announce the upcoming 5th (2025) New Energy Electric Vehicle Industry Development Conference. Organized by the Industry and Information Technology Bureau of Guigang City and the Publicity Department of Gangbei District, the conference will be hosted in Nanning on August 28. With a focus on "Innovation-Driven Intelligent Manufacturing, Openness Connecting the Globe," the event will convene domestic and international guests, experts, scholars, and industry-leading enterprises to explore the evolving patterns in the RCEP market. Key activities will include a thematic conference, the launch of new national standard electric bicycle products, a production and sales matchmaking conference for ASEAN countries, and test ride opportunities for electric bicycle products. These initiatives seek to enhance the mutual recognition of certifications for new national standard pr oducts in ASEAN markets and to pioneer a model of industrial cooperation labeled "Intelligent Manufacturing from China + Manufacturing from ASEAN."

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the foundation for this thriving industry was laid in 2015 when Gangbei District planned and developed the China-ASEAN New Energy Electric Vehicle Production Base. Over a decade, the base has attracted more than 100 electric vehicle enterprises, with over 50 now operational. The base boasts an annual production capacity of 5 million two-wheeled electric vehicles, 500,000 three-wheeled electric vehicles, and 5 million sets of parts and components. The local supporting rate has reached 80%, with the region achieving top rankings in China for brand agglomeration, component support rate, and the level of intelligentization, thereby solidifying the reputation of "Quality Electric Vehicles, Made in Guigang."
