Gaza Aid Mission With 30 Containers To Benefit 100,000 Palestinians: Amirudin

Kuala lumpur: Malaysia's humanitarian aid mission to Gaza, executed through the Global Sumud Flotilla 2.0 delegation, will deliver 30 containers of crucial supplies that are expected to directly benefit approximately 100,000 Palestinians. Selangor Menteri Besar and mission chief Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari announced this initiative, highlighting the mission's goal to alleviate the hardships faced by Gaza residents affected by ongoing conflict.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the mission involves more than 300 tonnes of essential goods packed into 30 containers, contributed by the public, companies, as well as state and federal governments. Amirudin emphasized the mission's potential to open doors for further aid that has previously been constrained. He noted the participation of nearly 3,000 volunteers from almost 100 countries, reflecting global solidarity with the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Amirudin stressed that the mission is not merely symbolic but represents a large-scale humanitarian movement aimed at delivering direct assistance to those in need. The mission includes two key components: the immediate delivery of emergency aid via land routes and the launch of Global Flotilla 2.0 from Barcelona to continue efforts to break humanitarian blockades.

He highlighted the federal government's involvement through government-to-government cooperation with several countries, including European nations, to ensure the safe and effective execution of the mission. The Malaysian delegation is set to follow a strategic schedule to ensure safety, particularly as they approach the Rafah border crossing.

Organisers have prepared operational plans and schedules to ensure safe and coordinated movement, considering current security conditions. Amirudin mentioned the expected increase in Malaysian participants compared to last year, indicating growing public support for humanitarian efforts in assisting Palestinians.

Amirudin also called for public prayers for the mission's success, hoping the aid reaches Palestinians in urgent need and expressing the aspiration of seeing Gaza and Palestine free and accessible as significant places for Muslims.
