Geohan’s Unit Secures RM103 Mln New Pantai Highway Extension Subcontracts

Kuala lumpur: Geohan Corporation Bhd's unit Geohan Sdn Bhd has secured two subcontract packages with a combined value of RM103 million for the New Pantai Highway Extension from IJM Construction Sdn Bhd. Geohan is a geotechnical engineering specialist, while IJM Construction, a unit of IJM Corporation Bhd, is the turnkey contractor for the highway project.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Geohan managing director Lee Kim Seng stated that the contract wins reinforce the growing importance of infrastructure as a key growth engine for the company. He highlighted that despite ongoing international geopolitical uncertainties, the company has been taking proactive measures to manage cost pressures and protect margins. By leveraging a relatively young and fuel-efficient machinery fleet, Geohan aims to optimize operational efficiency while maintaining cost discipline.

Lee further emphasized the company's commitment to fully utilizing its resources, including an experienced team and modern machinery, to deliver high-quality work and ensure timely project completion. The first subcontract, valued at RM27.4 million, involves hand-dug caisson piling works along with comprehensive pile testing. The second subcontract, valued at RM75.6 million, includes bored piling and reverse circulation drilling works. Both packages are expected to be completed within 19 months from the commencement date.

Geohan stated that the new contract wins have increased its total outstanding order book to approximately RM460 million, covering residential, mixed development, infrastructure, and industrial projects across Peninsular Malaysia. The infrastructure segment now forms an increasingly significant portion of the order book, accounting for approximately 30 percent, up from 17.3 percent as of December 31, 2025. This strategic focus on higher-value public works is expected to provide enhanced earnings visibility over the next two years.
