The Kuala Lumpur Community Welfare Movement (PMKL) has urged all parties to give newly appointed Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh the opportunity to prove her capability in leading the ministry.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, PMKL chairman Hussen Zulkarai emphasized that racial issues should not be raised following Hannah's appointment, and that assessments should be based on her performance and ability to resolve issues affecting residents in the Federal Territories, particularly in the capital.

Hussen questioned why Hannah Yeoh's appointment as Federal Territories Minister was being criticized before she had even commenced her role, advocating for an opportunity and time for her to demonstrate her capability in administering the Federal Territories.

He responded to criticism that had raised racial sentiments over Hannah's appointment, stating that such perceptions were pre mature and unhelpful in resolving issues faced by the people. Hussen highlighted the need to focus on addressing long-standing issues such as traffic congestion, parking management, public housing, and urban cleanliness in Kuala Lumpur.

Meanwhile, PMKL deputy chairman Affa Syarifuddin called on relevant parties, including Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Fadlun Mak Ujud and Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), to implement proactive and integrated measures to tackle major issues in the capital. He expressed concerns about poorly maintained privately owned buildings and the presence of abandoned vehicles in parking areas, which pose safety risks.

Affa urged DBKL to enforce the law and take firm action to ensure Kuala Lumpur becomes more organized, cleaner, and comfortable for residents.
