GOF Seizes 15 Cattle, Lorry Worth RM340,000 In Pasir Mas

Kuala lumpur: The General Operations Force (GOF) seized 15 beef cattle and a lorry, with the total seizure value estimated at RM340,000, during Ops Taring Wawasan Kelantan at Kampung Chabang Empat, Chetok, Pasir Mas.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Southeast Brigade commander SAC Ahmad Radzi Hussain stated that the seizure was made at about 2.30 pm today by a Strike Force team from Company B, 7th Battalion GOF Kuantan, while conducting patrols in the Jeram Perdah area.

He explained that the team spotted a suspicious-looking lorry and stopped it along Jalan Pasir Mas-Tanah Merah for inspection.

It was discovered during the checks that the 38-year-old local driver failed to produce complete documents for the livestock being transported.

The seized items included a Hino lorry and 15 beef cattle. The suspect was detained to assist investigations, and the case has been handed over to the Kelantan Veterinary Services Department for further action under Section 36(1) of the Animals Act 1953.

Ahmad Radzi noted that preliminary investigations revealed the suspect had transported the cattle from a livestock pen in Kampung Palas Merah, Wakaf Bharu, Tumpat, and received RM250 for each delivery.

He highlighted that the seizure was the result of ongoing patrols by the Strike Force team in efforts to curb smuggling activities and violations of the law in border areas.
