Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has affirmed the government's commitment to strengthening small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through a range of initiatives, including additional guarantees, financing facilities, and support to enhance innovation and digitalisation. He emphasized these efforts are crucial for Malaysia to maintain its status as a trusted investment hub in the region.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar stated that it is vital for local enterprises and start-ups to keep pace with global economic development. He expressed the aspiration for local SMEs to become more competitive in international markets. Anwar highlighted that technology, sustainability, and inclusivity should anchor the path forward to ensure continued success.
Anwar, who also serves as Finance Minister, urged SMEs to avoid complacency, stressing that digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), and automation have become essential needs for determining the nation's competitiveness and progress in the future.
