KOTA BHARU: The government has reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating poverty in Kelantan through the People's Well-being initiative, which includes coordinated direct assistance, according to Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar. The agenda to eliminate poverty remains a primary focus, with significant attention given to the state through various initiatives.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Implementation Coordination Unit of the Prime Minister's Department has been tasked with preparing and monitoring poverty data to support agencies that provide direct assistance to households identified as poor or hardcore poor. These efforts include collaborative initiatives with state aid agencies aimed at achieving zero hardcore poverty through programs such as Didik Kasih Madani and Kasih Ihsan Madani.
Efforts have also involved whitelisting activities and forming task forces with state government agencies to accurately assess and address the needs necessary to increase household incomes. These measures are intended to help lift families out of hardcore poverty. Shamsul Azri shared these developments during the KSN Leadership Aspirations Ceremony with members of the Kelantan State Civil Service at the Kota Darulnaim Complex.
