Kuala lumpur: The government is actively reviewing a range of proposals aimed at enhancing the business environment for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as part of the upcoming Budget 2027, as announced by Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah. These proposals have been gathered from various agencies, ministries, and through consultations with non-governmental organizations.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MSMEs are considered a key component of the national economy, and the government is prioritizing them in the Budget 2027 framework. Amir emphasized the importance of evaluating the proposals to determine their feasibility for implementation. His remarks came during an event celebrating Bank Simpanan Nasional's (BSN) 69th National Day.

Scheduled for presentation by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on October 9, Budget 2027 will focus on ten primary thrusts, including addressing the cost of living, creating meaningful employment, and stimulating the Malaysian economy, thereby fostering more opportunities for citizens.

Furthermore, Amir underlined the government's commitment to ensuring that all societal segments, particularly MSMEs, benefit from the country's economic expansion. Highlighting the 6.0 percent GDP growth in the second quarter of 2026, he expressed the government's intention to extend the advantages of this growth to all regions, including MSMEs.

The BSN 69th National Day celebration featured the 'Cerita Mereka, Jiwa Malaysia' campaign, culminating in the BSN Mikro MADANI Carnival. This event showcased the efforts and contributions of BSN micro-entrepreneurs, celebrating their diverse backgrounds and impact on the economy and local communities.
