Government to Uphold Fiscal Discipline Amid West Asia Crisis, Says Prime Minister Anwar

Kuala lumpur: The government will continue to uphold fiscal discipline and curb waste and leakages to ensure Malaysia's economic growth momentum remains sustainable, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He emphasized the country's efforts to maintain its position as a vibrant investment destination amidst global economic challenges.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Malaysia continues to attract investors following several measures announced by the government in response to the ongoing crisis and conflict in West Asia. Anwar highlighted the importance of maintaining discipline and avoiding waste to sustain economic growth, even as the global economy faces a downturn.

The Prime Minister further noted that Malaysia remains an active investment destination, with many investors still showing interest despite the geopolitical tensions. In a special address, he mentioned the establishment of a special committee to study the impact of the US-Iran conflict on the country's economy. This committee will be chaired by Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, alongside Economy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir and other relevant ministers.
