Govt, Developer Partnership Must Continue To Ensure Affordable Housing – Azman

Kuala Lumpur: Collaboration between the government and property developers in providing affordable housing must continue, to ensure that the well-being of the people remains safeguarded. The Prime Minister's political secretary Datuk Azman Abidin emphasized this point at a key handover ceremony for the Residensi Seruni project in Rejang Setapak.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Residensi Seruni project exemplifies collaborative efforts aimed at offering home ownership opportunities to the B40 and M40 groups. Azman highlighted the crucial role of private property developers, describing them as a bridge that aids the government in providing affordable housing to Malaysians, particularly benefiting those in Kuala Lumpur.

During the ceremony, a total of 700 homebuyers received their keys. Each unit of the Residensi Seruni spans 924 square feet, is priced at RM295,000, and comes equipped with condominium-standard facilities. The project is a joint venture between Amber Homes Sdn Bhd and Rimbun Gabungan Sdn Bhd, which obtained its certificate of completion and compliance in early January.

Azman further elaborated that Residensi Wilayah is a rebranded version of the Federal Territories Affordable Homes Project (RUMAWIP), which was enhanced in 2019 to place greater focus on the M40 group. Through this initiative, 62,968 housing units have been completed, with 93 projects currently underway across the Federal Territories.
