Kuala Lumpur: The government is evaluating a strategic plan to assist Koperasi Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) Berhad by awarding suitable projects instead of providing additional funds, as announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. This initiative aims to boost returns for nearly 100,000 cooperative members by ensuring faster and more efficient project execution.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Prime Minister emphasized that awarding projects would be more beneficial than direct financial grants. He highlighted that project implementation would reach a large number of members, ensuring better execution, reasonable costs, and faster completion.

During the opening of the 90th Annual Delegates' General Meeting of Koperasi PDRM Berhad, Anwar, who also serves as the Finance Minister, urged the cooperative's management to present a performance report to him and Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail. This report would help identify potential collaboration areas.

Anwar further stated his intention to explore cooperation with the Ministry of Finance. He plans to instruct the Second Finance Minister and the Treasury secretary-general to explore additional avenues to ensure that profits gained by Koperasi PDRM benefit its members.
