Govt Prioritizes Anti-Corruption Measures, Saves RM15.5 Billion

Tambun: The government remains focused on its efforts to combat corruption and strengthen governance. The political secretary to the Minister of Finance, Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim, said the government's measures have successfully saved RM15.5 billion of national funds from falling into the wrong hands.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Muhammad Kamil highlighted that the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, emphasized the significance of this substantial saving as a result of anti-corruption enforcement measures. He made these remarks while addressing reporters after a special meeting with Chinese farmers' representatives from the Tambun parliamentary constituency.

During the meeting, Muhammad Kamil proposed several ideas to assist farmers in overcoming their challenges, particularly suggesting a shift to modern farming methods or vertical farming due to limited land availability in the Tambun area. He expressed his intention to engage with stakeholders, including state-owned subsidiaries, to propose alternative solutions and address requests for more adequate compensation.

Muhammad Kamil also mentioned plans to discuss these issues further and convey the same message to the Perak Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, concerning land matters and related issues.
