Govt Tables Supplementary Supply (2024) Bill 2025 For First Reading

Kuala Lumpur: The Supplementary Supply (2024) Bill 2025 was tabled for its first reading in the Dewan Rakyat today. The bill was presented by Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Supplementary Supply (2024) Bill 2025 makes provisions for the withdrawal of an amount not exceeding RM20,191,299,500 from the Consolidated Fund for additional expenditures for services in 2024. This supplementary expenditure is requested for allocations to various sectors, including the Treasury's General Services which amounts to RM12,624,721,830.

The bill also includes allocations to the Statutory Fund of RM3,151,419,300, the Ministry of Education at RM1,763,672,170, and the Public Service Department with RM1,148,146,080. Additionally, the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living is set to receive RM1,077,146,050.

Further allocations include the Ministry of Higher Education, which is slated to receive RM417,999,870, and the Election Commission, set to receive RM8,194,200. Amir Hamzah added that the bill will be presented for its second reading at this Dewan Rakyat session.
