Kuala lumpur: Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh was proclaimed president of the Federal Territories State Scouts Council today. The proclamation ceremony took place during the 2026 Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory King's Scout Medal and Certificate Presentation Ceremony at the City Hall Auditorium, where Yeoh announced a ministerial allocation of RM20,000 to support scouting activities in the Federal Territories.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Hannah Yeoh expressed her support for the Scouts Association of Malaysia by allocating RM10,000 to the Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory branch to facilitate more youth programmes during school holidays. Additionally, she announced an extra RM10,000 allocation to fund training programmes for youths unable to participate in existing programmes.

Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) Executive Director Rosli Nordin was also proclaimed chairman of the Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory State Scouts Council at the event. During the ceremony, Hannah Yeoh awarded King's Scout Certificates to 58 recipients. This prestigious award is the highest in the Malaysian Scouting Movement, recognizing scouts for their leadership, skills, resilience, community service, and adherence to the Scout Promise and Law.

Furthermore, Yeoh presented the Chief Scout's Commendation Certificates to 75 recipients and the Federal Territories Scouts Wangsa Certificates to 108 scout leaders, acknowledging their contributions to scouting. Chief Scout of Malaysia Major General Datuk Prof Dr Mohd Zin Bidin and National Scout Council member and Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul were also present to witness the ceremony.
