Harimau Malaya Football Squad To Face Singapore And Palestine In Upcoming Friendlies

Kuala lumpur: The national men's football squad is set to play two Tier 1 international friendlies at different venues next month.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Harimau Malaya, under the guidance of Peter Cklamovski, will begin their friendlies campaign with the 'Causeway Derby' against Singapore on September 4 at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil, with kick-off at 9 pm. Following this, Malaysia will host Palestine at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri on September 8, with the match also commencing at 9 pm.

Both fixtures are key for Harimau Malaya as they prepare for the third round of the 2027 Asian Cup Qualifiers against Laos in October. Malaysia, currently ranked 125th in the world, will face Laos on October 9 and 14, followed by a match against Nepal on November 18, before concluding Group F action against Vietnam on March 31 next year.

The national team is currently leading the group with six points, followed by Vietnam and Laos with three points each, while Nepal, ranked 176th, is at the bottom without a point.
