Haslina Appointed As Ministry Of National Unity’s Secretary-General Effective June 23

Kuala Lumpur: Datuk Haslina Abdul Hamid has been appointed as the Secretary-General of the Ministry of National Unity, effective June 23.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN) Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar stated that Haslina's appointment is based on her qualifications, leadership qualities, and the competency required to lead the ministry. He highlighted that Haslina has an extensive 29-year career in public service, having worked across various ministries and agencies. Her most recent role was as the Chief Executive Officer of the Langkawi Development Authority (LADA).

Tan Sri Shamsul expressed confidence in Haslina's ability to contribute to national unity efforts. "I believe her appointment as the Secretary-General of Unity will further ignite efforts to translate the Malaysia MADANI initiative by upholding the public service reform agenda in strengthening national unity based on values and patriotism to the country," he mentioned via his official Facebook post.

Haslina, 57, has an academic background that includes a Master of Laws degree from Keio University, Japan, and a Bachelor of Economics and Administration degree from Universiti Malaya. Her educational and professional background positions her well to lead the Ministry of National Unity.
