Kuala lumpur: A total of 2,000 students from 50 schools across Selangor involved in the human graphic performance for the National Day celebration have spent nearly 300 hours training for the event to be held at Dataran Putrajaya on Aug 31.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Chief Coach Ahmad Hafiz Awaludin stated that the participants were selected in May before training began in July, incorporating various new elements in line with this year's theme, 'Malaysia MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni'. Initially, the students trained at their respective schools using the Training of Trainers (ToT) concept before being brought together in early August for combined rehearsals, training eight hours a day from Monday to Thursday over two months.

Ahmad Hafiz explained that the training period is longer compared to previous years, as the human graphic performance will be complemented by a choir performance. Therefore, additional time is needed for thorough preparation. He shared these insights with Bernama during a training session at the KSL Esplanade Hotel.

The training has also focused on strengthening the students' physical and mental readiness for unpredictable weather, as the performance will take place on an uncovered outdoor stage. Ahmad Hafiz mentioned that preparations are now 80 percent complete, with remaining time dedicated to fine-tuning the participants' movements and choreography.

This year's human graphic team will feature a variety of movements to the tunes of 12 songs, including a medley of 'Wau Bulan', 'Bapak Mek Datang', 'Dia Datang', and 'Sayang Kinabalu'. The team will also accompany Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza for the performance of the event's theme song.
