Kuala lumpur: The International Innovation and Invention Competition Through Exhibition (i-CompEx) programme, now in its 13th iteration, is increasingly viewed as a 'mature' platform that garners active participation from both domestic and international institutions. Deputy Minister of Higher Education Datuk Mustapha Sakmud emphasized the event's potential to captivate public interest, particularly among the younger generation, in the realm of new technologies and innovative creations.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Deputy Minister Mustapha noted the competitive nature of this year's i-CompEx, highlighting the challenges faced by the jury in selecting a winner. This competitiveness underscores the programme's evolution since its inception, reflecting a significant enhancement in the quality of participation over the 13 editions. He remarked that participants from primary and secondary schools, alongside various government agencies, play a pivotal role in fostering innovations that could positively impact society.

The Deputy Minister stressed the importance of exposing young people to emerging technologies from an early age to stimulate interest in fields such as artificial intelligence as they advance to higher education. He believes that platforms like i-CompEx are essential in catalyzing ideas and interests among the youth.

The i-CompEx 2025 was a collaborative effort with the Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah Polytechnic (POLIMAS) and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. The event attracted participants from several countries, including Saudi Arabia, China, the United Kingdom, Thailand, and Indonesia. Over the course of two days, a total of 401 innovation projects from various Malaysian and international institutions were showcased, marking the conclusion of i-CompEx 2025 today.
