KUALA LUMPUR, The International Young Future Leaders Summit 2024 (iFUTURE 2024) represents a space for university students to strengthen and show their leadership talent, Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir said.
He added that the first ever iFUTURE 2024, organised by his ministry, would allow local and foreign university students to interact in line with the government’s objective to shape well-rounded high-quality graduates.
‘Over 1,000 local and international university leaders from 46 countries have directly benefited from sharing sessions and discussions with leaders from the higher education sector, youth leaders and several ministers, all focused on developing future leaders with integrity.
‘The programme also gathered speakers from leaders abroad as we have many international leaders, around 128,000 currently,’ he told reporters after officiating the close of iFUTURE 2024 here today.
Seven forums were held throughout the summit, including ‘The role of students as nation build
ing partners’, ‘AI technology drives future leaders’ and ‘Humanitarian values on social media’.
Zambry also announced the setting up of the Global Student Unity Network (GSUN) that will serve as a platform to develop university leaders at the international level.
‘It will also serve as a networking platform for local and international university students to share ideas and views. Access details will be announced soon,’ he added.
