IGP: PDRM To Continue Strengthening K’tan-Thailand Border Control To Curb Smuggling

Kota bharu: The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) assures that border control at the Kelantan-Thailand border will continue to be strengthened to curb smuggling activities. Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail stated that PDRM is working closely with various other enforcement agencies to ensure control along the country's borders is more effective.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, IGP Mohd Khalid expressed confidence in the efforts of Kelantan police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat in reinforcing law enforcement measures, leading to the resolution of numerous issues. He emphasized the importance of collaboration among all agencies to combat smuggling and other border-related challenges.

He revealed plans for an official visit to Kelantan in the near future to personally inspect operations at the border area. The visit will address issues related to unlicensed premises and agencies identified as operating illegally. The IGP affirmed that the current level of enforcement by the Kelantan police is satisfactory and highlighted the intention to enhance these efforts continuously.
