Rembau: An Indonesian man tragically lost his life after being struck by a car while attempting to cross the road from the emergency lane at KM 238.4 (North) on the PLUS Ayer Keroh-Senawang Highway this morning. The incident resulted in the 32-year-old lorry attendant being pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries to his head and body, as confirmed by Rembau deputy police chief DSP Azmi Ali.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the initial investigations revealed that the lorry, in which the victim was a passenger, had stopped in the emergency lane because of a flat tire. The victim reportedly exited the vehicle and tried to cross the road, only to be hit by a Mercedes-Benz driven by a 56-year-old man. Fortunately, both the lorry driver and the car driver escaped without injuries.
DSP Azmi Ali stated that the victim's body was transported to the Rembau Hospital Forensic Unit for a post-mortem examination. The case is currently under investigation in accordance with Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
