Kuala Lumpur: InDrive Malaysia announced that it is actively engaging with relevant regulatory authorities after receiving a notice of revocation from the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD). The company is seeking further clarification on the matter to ensure the continued operation of its services within Malaysia.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, APAD has issued a three-month deadline for InDrive to return its Intermediation Business Licence (IBL) due to non-compliance with regulations established in 2019. This marks the second instance of a termination notice being issued to a Russian-founded e-hailing service, with Maxim having faced a similar situation in 2023.
In a statement to Bernama, InDrive Malaysia emphasized its commitment to providing safe and reliable mobility solutions to the Malaysian community. The company stated that it has proactively reached out to the relevant agencies to understand the situation better and is willing to take necessary actions to continue its services. InDrive also assured users of its dedication to operating in accordance with local laws and regulations.
The company pledged to update the public once further clarity is obtained from the authorities and expressed gratitude for the support and understanding of its users during this period.
