Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN) Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar said the efforts included several integrity initiatives, such as the Integrity and Governance Award (AIGA), which had produced impactful and impressive results.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar mentioned, 'We introduced these integrity initiatives to improve and strengthen integrity among civil servants. Alhamdulillah, so far, there are signs that our efforts are beginning to bear fruit,' he told Bernama after officiating the Integrity Fun Walk 2026 here today.
Commenting on the event, Shamsul Azri, who is also the Malaysian Institute of Integrity (IIM) chairman, said the programme served as a platform to raise public awareness about the importance of integrity and encourage people to uphold the value in their daily lives.
He said the programme, featuring three-kilometre and five-kilometre categories, attracted about 2,000 participants, including civil servants, representatives from government agencies and members of non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
'The most important aspect of this programme is instilling in the public and civil servants alike the understanding that integrity means doing the right thing even when no one is watching,' he said.
