Investigation Continues into Palapes Cadet Syamsul Haris’ Death

Kuala lumpur: Police are continuing their investigation into the death of Reserve Officers Training Unit (Palapes) cadet Syamsul Haris Shamsudin, following several directives from the Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the AGC referenced a media report dated November 28, titled 'Keluarga gesa AGC bertindak selepas bedah siasat dedah punca kematian Syamsul,' which translates to 'UTM cadet's family urges AGC to act on second post-mortem findings.' The report has prompted ongoing police investigations based on further instructions from the AGC. A comprehensive report is anticipated to be submitted to the AGC soon for further action.

Syamsul Haris, aged 22, was declared dead on July 28 at Kota Tinggi Hospital after participating in training at the Army Combat Training Centre in Ulu Tiram, Johor. He was laid to rest on July 29 at the Kampung Riching Ulu Muslim Cemetery.
