Investigation Paper On Protection Money Case Submitted To DPP

Kuala lumpur: The investigation paper on the case involving two individuals from the Wangsa Maju Federal Territory Residents' Representative Council (MPP), who are allegedly implicated in soliciting protection money from a business premises, has been forwarded to the deputy public prosecutor (DPP) today. Wangsa Maju Police chief SAC Mohamad Lazim Ismail stated that the police are now awaiting further directives from the prosecution to determine the subsequent course of action.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the investigation paper was submitted earlier today, accompanied by several recommendations from the police. However, the authorities must wait for the DPP's final decision before proceeding with any further measures. During a press conference, SAC Mohamad Lazim Ismail mentioned that statements from four witnesses have been recorded to support the investigation, which is being conducted under Section 385 of the Penal Code.

Recently, a closed-circuit television clip circulated widely, showing two men identifying themselves as MPP members while requesting money from a massage centre. The suspects were apprehended on Thursday but were subsequently released on police bail yesterday.
