Kuala lumpur: World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) Group Managing Director Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim, who is also a Board Member of the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA), has been appointed as Malaysia Coordinator at Strategic Intelligence, World Economic Forum (WEF) representative, effective Oct 24.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the official appointment letter was presented to Irmohizam yesterday by Co-Founder of Strategic Intelligence at the WEF, Professor Henrik von Scheel, who is currently in Malaysia as part of his official visit series.
The statement said the appointment recognises Irmohizam's expertise and global leadership in advancing trade networks, promoting economic diplomacy, and driving strategic development. "These areas have become increasingly vital as global economic power continues to shift towards Asia. His role will position Malaysia as a central hub for strategic dialogue, innovation, and international economic collaboration," it said.
The statement added that Strategic Intelligence, an influential organisation that shapes global future agendas, including the Fourth Industrial Revolution, has for more than two decades produced strategic analyses, policy frameworks, and impactful reports for leading institutions such as the WEF.
Meanwhile, Irmohizam said the appointment serves as motivation for him to further strengthen Malaysia's visibility in global economic and technological platforms. 'I am truly grateful and honoured for this opportunity. This appointment is not only a personal recognition but a significant responsibility to ensure that Malaysia continues to stand out as a centre for thought leadership, innovation, and global collaboration,' he said.
He said the appointment also reinforces the positioning of WTCKL and the WTCA in the global economy, aligned with the broader vision of establishing Malaysia as Asia's leading hub for economic activity and innovation.
