Islamic Relief Malaysia Appoints Siti Fadilah As New CEO

Kuala Lumpur: Islamic Relief Malaysia has appointed Siti Fadilah Mohd Hood as the new chief executive officer, effective February 1. Islamic Relief Malaysia Board of Trustees chairman Datuk Seri Syed Saleh Syed Abdul Rahman announced that Siti Fadilah would replace Mohd Shukor Tahir, whose service concluded on January 31.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Siti Fadilah previously served as the organisation's deputy chief executive officer, where she was responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing its operations. With 18 years of experience in the humanitarian and welfare sector with Islamic Relief Malaysia, she has demonstrated leadership in areas such as fundraising, marketing, communications, and programme development.

Syed Saleh highlighted that Siti Fadilah holds a degree in Biochemical Engineering-Biotechnology from the International Islamic University Malaysia and has a proven track record in driving humanitarian initiatives. Her achievements include leading several key campaigns, such as Rezeki Ramadan, Palestine Appeal, Save Syria, MyYateem, Water System Waqf Fund, Local Emergency, and MySedekah initiatives, both locally and internationally.

Her participation in global working groups and humanitarian missions has taken her to countries including Somalia, Malawi, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosova, Turkiye, Jordan, and Bangladesh. Syed Saleh expressed confidence in her expertise and commitment to the mission of Islamic Relief, believing it will further the organisation's efforts in delivering high-quality and sustainable humanitarian aid.

The Board of Trustees, senior management, and all Islamic Relief Malaysia staff extended their congratulations on Siti Fadilah's appointment, expressing confidence that she will continue to strengthen the organisation in achieving its humanitarian vision and mission.
