Putrajaya: The Islamic turath tradition, referring to the classical scholarly heritage of Islam, must continue to be strengthened so that it remains relevant and serves as a guide for present and future generations in navigating a changing world, including developments in artificial intelligence (AI). Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasized that turath is not merely a legacy of knowledge, but the foundation that shapes the faith, thinking, and identity of Muslims.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar stated, "In a rapidly changing world, including developments in AI, the turath tradition must continue to be strengthened so that it remains relevant and serves as a guide for present and future generations. It is our responsibility to ensure that this wealth of knowledge remains alive, continues to develop, and contributes to the strength of the ummah." He made these remarks in a Facebook post today.

Anwar also shared a one-minute video showcasing highlights of the opening ceremony of the National Turath Ulama Scholarly Discussion, which was held as part of the 2026 Malaysia Islamic Turath Festival in Putrajaya.
