Jakim Ready To Work With Influencers To Ensure Delivery Of Accurate Information

Kuala Lumpur: The Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) has expressed its readiness to collaborate with influencers and social media content creators to provide accurate information to the public and respond to any viral issues.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Jakim director-general Datuk Dr Sirajuddin Suhaimee stated that this initiative could help ensure that influencers and social media content creators exercise greater caution when publishing or commenting on sensitive issues on digital platforms. Among the initial steps is the launch of a podcast called JUM Podcast, which stands for Jakim Untuk Ummah, and will address relevant issues.

Sirajuddin mentioned plans to invite influencers to join the discussions to address any issues or questions they or the community might have. He emphasized the importance of influencers consulting Jakim before making any comments on social media platforms to avoid public confusion. By seeking Jakim's guidance, content creators can receive accurate input to convey positive messages.

Additionally, Sirajuddin revealed that Jakim has planned 10 programmes throughout Ramadan to foster a deeper appreciation of the holy month. Plans include collaboration with strategic partners at both state and federal levels, involving government agencies and the private sector.
