Johor bahru: Jalan Ismail Sultan heading towards Stulang will be fully closed to vehicles nightly from tonight until July 16 to facilitate construction works for the Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link project. The nightly closures will occur from 10pm to 5am, allowing seven hours of construction work each night along the affected stretch.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the closure affects the section after the traffic light junction near the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) Complex and the R and F Mall area, close to GBW Hotel. To manage traffic flow, a contraflow system will be periodically activated along Jalan Ismail Sultan towards the city centre. This will enable vehicles from the CIQ and R and F areas traveling to Stulang to use the opposite lane as an alternative route.
Motorists are urged to comply with traffic signboards and follow the instructions of flagmen stationed at the site during the closure. For additional information, road users can consult the diversion route map available on RTSO's official Facebook page.
