Sri medan: The Information Department (JAPEN) has introduced the Kampung Angkat MADANI (KAM) and PENTARAMA X Kelab Malaysiaku programmes at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Seri Medan, focusing on delivering more engaging and focused content for the students and the community.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, JAPEN director-general Julina Johan highlighted that the programmes are centered on education and community development, incorporating elements of entertainment and patriotism. These initiatives aim to raise awareness about bullying among students and provide them with guidance on potential future pathways after school. Julina emphasized the importance of guiding students on their future paths while promoting community service.
The programmes include 'road to university' elements and encourage participation in volunteer activities. The event was also attended by SMK Seri Medan principal Masrom Rahmat. Under the JAPEN initiative, two significant physical developments have been undertaken at SMK Seri Medan: the transformation of a classroom into a computer lab and the installation of a fan in the school's open hall.
Julina mentioned that the community around Sri Medan will also benefit from the construction of an additional block at the Pekan Sri Medan Mosque, which is currently in its initial phase and expected to be completed by the end of the year. She stated that these programmes reflect the government's commitment to ensuring continued community benefits.
The implementation of KAM, through collaboration between central agencies like JAPEN and state bodies such as the Johor government and district education offices, underscores the importance of collective effort in community development.
