Jasmine Food’s Interactive Mural Brings New Life To KL’s Jalan Kamunting

Kuala lumpur: Jasmine Food Corporation Sdn Bhd, in collaboration with Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), has unveiled an interactive mural titled "Nasi Warisan Kita" (Our Rice Heritage) at Jalan Kamunting, aiming to enhance the area's appeal as a tourist destination.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the 650-square-foot mural was crafted by three local artists within a week and contributes to the vibrancy of this year's National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations. Jasmine Food Corporation's Head of Branding and Product Development, Farhan Hafetz, explained that visitors can engage with the mural's animated features through a quick response (QR) code, utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented reality (AR).

Farhan further commented on Jalan Kamunting's potential as a culinary hub, stating, "Jalan Kamunting actually has many eateries that are somewhat hidden. So, we want people to know that Kuala Lumpur has this beautiful area with delicious food. We want this mural to become an icon here." The launch event saw the presence of Jasmine Food Corporation Chief Operating Officer Alan Kwong and Jasmine Food ambassador, veteran actor Datuk Jalaluddin Hassan.

In conjunction with the mural launch, and during the Kuala Lumpur Car Free Morning (KL Car Free Morning), Jasmine Food Corporation distributed 1,000 packs of nasi lemak to visitors. Farhan emphasized the collaboration with DBKL to promote KL Car Free Morning and announced plans for more activities, including CSR initiatives, to draw more visitors.

A survey conducted by BERNAMA at the site revealed enthusiastic participation from KL Car Free Morning attendees, who arrived as early as 7 am to enjoy the free nasi lemak and capture photos with the mural. Veteran actor Jalaluddin Hassan highlighted the mural's role in fostering unity among Malaysia's multiracial society, as it depicts people of various races and cultures sharing rice-based dishes.

Jalaluddin remarked, "This is something that automatically triggers our minds-that this is the kind of atmosphere we want, this is the kind of view we want. Indirectly, it builds our spirit and educates our children and grandchildren that this is our country, where we live in peace and harmony."
