JBPM conducts Medevac to send Orang Asli child to hospital

GUA MUSANG, Feb 27 (Bernama) — The Fire and Rescue Department’s (JBPM) Air Unit carried out a medical evacuation flight (Medevac) to transport a two-year-old Orang Asli girl, having a fever and suffering from asthma, to seek treatment at the Gua Musang Hospital yesterday.

The department’s Subang air base public relations officer Deputy Supt II Mohd Hasrizal Kamaruzzaman said the victim, Herissya Heffly, who was accompanied by her mother, Tijah Enda, 22, was in a stable condition even though she was given oxygen aid due to her weak condition during the evacuation process in the Mi-17-IV helicopter.

“As soon as the crew arrived at the village, breathing aid was given to the victim as she was in a weak state. The child was then transported to the Gua Musang Hospital in a 42-minute flight for further treatment as soon as the Medevac flight arrived at the Gua Musang fire statton,” he said in a statement today.
