JKmR Annual Report To Be Discussed With Cabinet and MACC, Announces Prime Minister

Kuala lumpur: The annual report of the Special Committee on Corruption (JKmR) will be presented to the Cabinet and discussed in detail with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said. He announced that the report encompasses JKmR's review and assessment of MACC's annual reports from 2021 to 2024, aimed at identifying trends and developments in anti-corruption efforts and addressing challenges faced by MACC.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Prime Minister Anwar emphasized the importance of evaluating every recommendation and finding within the report to enhance institutional reforms, prevent financial leakages, and boost public confidence. "The Government's commitment to transparency, integrity, and good governance remains steadfast. Insya-Allah, we will ensure that the pursuit of a corruption-free nation with strong integrity continues to be our highest priority," he stated in a Facebook post today.

Earlier, Anwar received a courtesy call from the committee, led by its chairman Datuk Mohd Shahar Abdullah, where he was briefed on its annual report for the first time.
