Kuala lumpur: The Special Committee on Corruption (JKMR) today submitted its 2024 Annual Report to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. This submission aligns with its responsibilities under Section 14 of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009 (Act 694), which requires the committee to advise the Prime Minister on matters concerning corruption issues in Malaysia.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the presentation included JKMR's review of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Annual Report, addressing enforcement, prevention, and management aspects, along with inspection findings from the Anti-Corruption Advisory Board's 2024 review.

The committee also submitted recommendations to the Prime Minister aimed at strengthening the overall effectiveness of the MACC. These recommendations are designed to align with Malaysia's commitment to combating corruption and enhancing integrity in public administration, including a proposal to establish an Anti-Corruption Services Commission.

JKMR expressed hope that the recommendations in the report would receive due consideration and be translated into impactful actions beneficial to the nation. The committee, comprised of elected representatives who serve as the community's voice, also welcomes public views and suggestions to further strengthen the MACC's mandate.
